Within the same study cycle (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral), the total duration of a student’s mobility—if any, including periods as an Erasmus Mundus grantee or student mobility carried out during the 2014–2020 Erasmus+ period—together with any student mobility in the new Erasmus+ period (2021–2027), cannot exceed 12 months*. Even if no grant is provided, student mobility activities within the same study cycle must be planned so that their total duration does not exceed 12 months.
When a student completes their current study cycle and moves to a new one (for example, after finishing a bachelor's degree and starting a master's program), they can again participate in physical mobility for a maximum of 12 months within the new study cycle.
Thus, a single student can participate in physical mobility for up to 12 months per study cycle, allowing a maximum of 36 months in total across all study cycles.
It is possible for educational mobility activities to include an internship (concurrently or following) to gain professional experience. This activity, including the internship, must last at least two months and be funded through educational mobility.
In higher education programs where two cycles are combined (e.g., integrated doctoral programs) or completed within a single cycle (e.g., medical education), the total mobility duration is limited to a maximum of 24 months.
