Higher education institutions select their students to participate in study and internship activities according to the selection criteria set by the Center. Student selections are made from among applicants who meet the minimum requirements, based on the evaluation criteria and weighted scores announced by the Center, by ranking the scores from highest to lowest and applying the selection according to preference order/score/budget criteria.
In addition to the average of academic success and foreign language scores, when calculating the Erasmus selection score of students who have previously benefited from higher education student or internship mobility under Erasmus+ (2014–2020 or 2021–2027) within the same study cycle, a deduction of 10 points is applied for each previously utilized activity (regardless of whether it was study or internship).
The evaluation criteria and weighted scores to be used in evaluating mobility applications are listed below:
| CRITERIA[8] | POINT |
|---|---|
| Grade point average | %50 [1,2,3] |
| Language level | %50 [1,4,5] |
| Being a veteran and being a spouse or child of a martyr/veteran | +15 [9] |
| Disability (provided it is documented) | +10 [6] |
| Students who have been granted protection, care or shelter under the Social Services Law No. 2828 | +10 [10] |
| Submit an traineeship acceptance letter during the application process | +10 |
| Digital skills development internships (DOTs) are prioritized | +5 [7] |
| For each previously realised/qualified Erasmus+ mobility (with or without grant) | -10 |
| Participating in mobility in the country of citizenship | -10 |
| Becoming entitled to mobility and giving up this right outside the specified waiver periods | -10 |
| Applying for two types of mobility (study or internship) at the same time (reduction is applied to the second type of mobility chosen by the student) | -10 |
| Failure to attend meetings/trainings related to mobility without an excuse (applies if the student re-applies for Erasmus+ mobility) | -5 |
| Declaring that you will take the language exam but not taking it without an excuse (applies if the student re-applies for Erasmus+ mobility) | -5 |
The “-10 points” deduction for previous participation is not applied for mobility activities carried out in a previous study cycle or for mobility activities other than higher education student/internship mobility. It is applied if a student who has already participated in mobility applies again within the same study cycle.
For students who were selected in a previous selection period within the same study cycle but did not carry out their activity without a valid force majeure reason, a “-10 points” deduction is applied for each activity not carried out, even if they had earned the right to participate. If the higher education institution anticipates withdrawals and gives students a period to declare their withdrawal, and students notify their withdrawal within this period, no point deduction is applied. If the higher education institution conducts the selection process for study and internship mobility within the same application and evaluation process, and a student who has not previously participated in mobility applies for both study and internship at the same time, the choice of which activity will have the “-10 points” deduction applied is left to the student. In this case, the student is required to submit a written statement indicating which activity they prefer the deduction to be applied to. If a student who has previously participated in mobility applies for both study and internship mobility at the same time, a “-20 points” deduction is applied for the type of mobility they have previously benefited from, and a “-10 points” deduction is applied for the second type of mobility they are applying for.
Deductions are made from the student's total score.
If the total scores calculated by taking all criteria into account are equal, the student with the higher academic achievement grade will be given priority; if the academic achievement grade is also equal, the student with the younger age will be given priority.
Students studying in a double major can apply for mobility from only one major in the same application period.
The ranking of students' scores is done within the relevant department/faculty according to the quotas allocated to the department or faculties.
